An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was identified penetrating Israeli airspace this morning, and was intercepted by the IAF at approximately 10:00 AM. IDF soldiers are currently searching the area where the drone was downed, in open areas in the northern Negev, to locate and identify the drone.

How many countries do you think have drones? Maybe 100? About as many as have nuclear weapons. But, actually what is a drone? Basically a model airplane with a GoPro camera on it. Nicolas Freeling wrote a novel, Gadget, in 1977 complete with drones, nuclear waste and IEDs. Drones are definitely off the shelf possibilities. Today in the NY Times they reported on the possibility of 3D printers printing guns in bedrooms. why stop at guns?
Gadget is out of print but your local public library might have it. Amazing ideas and great writing.
